The word Aloha literally means "Alo"-Face and "Ha" -Breath. It is the act of facing another so that your foreheads are touching and you are breathing each others breath. It is the ultimate act of intamacy and trust and being present. Being present in this moment and being still with another person. When we are present nothing can exist but love. Our thoughts fade away and we are both there in the light of each others greatness.
When I hold my camera, I am present. The world drops away, all the noise of my mind, my to-do list, even my own body no longer exists. I am focused and I am clear. It is flow state. There in flow, I see the beauty and the light in each of my subjects. I see them as perfect and whole and from this place of presence magic happens.
Photography uses light and time to create an image. These two elements come together and if you are present, if you are filled with Aloha, the awareness of the here and now and the incredible perfection of each moment. That is when you can create something real and perfect. Something that you will feel deeply and cherish forever.
Let's Create Some Magic!
